The Jezebel Spirit, whether it operates through a man or a woman, is a seducing spirit. It seeks to bind you up through sexual immorality. It desires to stop your destiny before you have even begun to walk the path with God. It desires to take you out and destroy anything God would use you for in the Kingdom. It will seek to ruin your reputation at all cost, even through false accusations.
We are in a time of history, where so many Christians think NOTHING AT ALL about living in sexual sin. They have zero issues with engaging in sex outside of marriage or living with a romantic partner. Many seem shocked that they are being deceived, as this is just how the world is today after all. Our failure to speak the truth and life of God’s word is contributing to more and more in a generation falling into the enemy’s web. Yes, sexual immorality has always infiltrated the church, however, today’s deception does not label this as sin but a normal expectation.
Ephesians 5: 3-6 But sexual immorality and all [moral] impurity [indecent, offensive behavior] or greed must not even be hinted at among you, as is proper among saints [for as believers our way of life, whether in public or in private, reflects the validity of our faith]. 4 Let there be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse [obscene or vulgar] joking, because such things are not appropriate [for believers]; but instead speak of your thankfulness [to God]. 5 For be sure of this: no immoral, impure, or greedy person—for that one is [in effect] an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God [for such a person places a higher value on something other than God]. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty arguments [that encourage you to sin], for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience [those who habitually sin].
One of the Fruits of the Spirit is Self-Control. You are not a slave to your flesh unless you allow it to rule over you. Christ gives us the power to overcome, but we have to surrender our own will at the Cross. You are not called to live like the world, look like the world, or engage in sin like the world. When we open a gateway in our lives for the enemy, he will indeed take that offer to come in to kill, steal, and destroy in any area that will cripple you.
1 Thessalonians 4:3-8 For this is the will of God, that you be sanctified [separated and set apart from sin]: that you abstain and back away from sexual immorality; 4 that each of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor [being available for God’s purpose and separated from things profane], 5 not [to be used] in lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God and are ignorant of His will; 6 and that [in this matter of sexual misconduct] no man shall transgress and defraud his brother because the Lord is the avenger in all these things, just as we have told you before and solemnly warned you. 7 For God has not called us to impurity, but to holiness [to be dedicated, and set apart by behavior that pleases Him, whether in public or in private]. 8 So whoever rejects and disregards this is not [merely] rejecting man but the God who gives His Holy Spirit to you [to dwell in you and empower you to overcome temptation].
My mother used to say to me “Whatever it is that you have, you should bottle and sell it.” She was referring that men were always attracted to me. She was paying for some items at a store, and the male cashier saw my photo in her wallet and asked if I was single. It was common for me to have attention, but it was not really about my appearance or personality. It was the Spirit of Jezebel moving from person to person looking for any man who could get close enough to seduce me. I was targeted as a teen, and it only got much worse in my twenties. I had male friends who either said they would break off their engagement to be with me, or if they were married, they were more than willing to leave to have me. It was the most bizarre time in my life. When my fiancé died, it was like hordes of people came out of the woodwork suddenly interested in me or no longer afraid to act on what the Spirit of Jezebel was trying to get them to carry out. I didn’t fully understand the why of it, but I knew it all was a trap from the enemy.
We need to stop teaching teens that they are slaves to their hormones and that all of these intense thoughts and actions are just normal puberty. It is not. What you believe is what the enemy will hide behind. Yes, there is part physical truth, but there is also a spiritual prison that we are allowing youth to fall into due to our societal beliefs. We have lowered the bar so far that bondage is a natural consequence, and sexual immorality considered just a normal part of being a young person. We are giving permission for the enemy to cause havoc and ruin our children. Sexual Immorality is the biggest destroyer of a person and ripples the destruction to those closest tied to the offender. Right now, the enemy is leading people to believe that gender is not fixed, and that God doesn’t know what He is doing. We are confusing kids and calling it truth when it is a lie and abomination before the Lord. How many Christians are now so wishy washy in their Biblical beliefs that they are unwilling to accept that God would call this a sin?
This is what Genesis 6 was all about. The fallen angels wanted sex with Earth women. For those of you who are following this, there are no female angels. Hybrids were the offspring of the angelic and humans. They were wicked, strong, and God destroyed them in the flood. Noah was not speaking repentance to those hybrids. He was looking for any remaining bloodlines that were not affected by this invasion of the enemy. These hybrids were doing every kind of sexual immorality imaginable, and if you really understand what was happening, they were making animal/angelic hybrids as well. We today are making human/animal hybrids in labs around the world.
The enemy has no new tricks. He has just repackaged the same sins and given us a twisted version to make Christians question what the truth really is. He trusts that you will doubt God and follow him instead.
1 Corinthians 6:9-20 9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate [by perversion], nor those who participate in homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers [whose words are used as weapons to abuse, insult, humiliate, intimidate, or slander], nor swindlers will inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you [before you believed]. But you were washed [by the atoning sacrifice of Christ], you were sanctified [set apart for God, and made holy], you were justified [declared free of guilt] in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the [Holy] Spirit of our God [the source of the believer’s new life and changed behavior].12 Everything is permissible for me, but not all things are beneficial. Everything is permissible for me, but I will not be enslaved by anything [and brought under its power, allowing it to control me]. 13 Food is for the stomach and the stomach for food, but God will do away with both of them. The body is not intended for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body [to save, sanctify, and raise it again because of the sacrifice of the cross]. 14 And God has not only raised the Lord [to life], but will also raise us up by His power. 15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Am I therefore to take the members of Christ and make them part of a prostitute? Certainly not! 16 Do you not know that the one who joins himself to a prostitute is one body with her? For He says, “The two shall be one flesh.” 17 But the one who is united and joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. 18 Run away from sexual immorality [in any form, whether thought or behavior, whether visual or written]. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the one who is sexually immoral sins against his own body. 19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is within you, whom you have [received as a gift] from God, and that you are not your own [property]? 20 You were bought with a price [you were actually purchased with the precious blood of Jesus and made His own]. So then, honor and glorify God with your body.
If you lie, it is against God and the person you are deceiving, but it not against your OWN body. Every time, a person engages in sexual immorality they are destroying their own soul. They are giving permission for the enemy to come in and take full authority over them. This is why sexual addiction is far more powerful than most any other sin. Because the sin is against their own soul, the enemy has extreme power over the person that just is not there in other sins. Women had a long-standing resistance to pornography, but they have now fallen to this darkness largely due to society's push for powerful sexually dominant women in movies and tv.
This is an important point to understand. When Miriam was covered in leprosy and banned to outside the camp, she knew it was because she spoke against Moses. How many of us are willing to see the correlation from a sin to a problem that we are afflicted with? We walk around all dumbfounded that we have an issue, we are so sure the enemy is behind, yet we don’t look for the doors that we have wide open.
Do we still see God as a killer of all fun and pleasure? Or do we see Him as a Loving Father not wishing for any to be handed over to the tormentors of their soul? When we decide to do as our flesh demands, we will lose far more than we could ever imagine. We may indeed lose everything that God desired to do in our lives. We cannot serve two masters.
The sins that we continue to do without repentance will eventually destroy our testimony, our witness, and the blueprints God spoke over our lives. You will be ineffective in the kingdom assignments, and in God’s impending judgment. Yes, God still judges unrepentant sin. We haven't even addressed the damage to your personal life, even the parts no one else sees.
God’s Altar of Repentance, Forgiveness, and Restoration is open today. Decide to turn completely away from the deception all around. If we lack wisdom and discernment, God will surely provide. Being ignorant of the truth will lead to death. When Jesus healed someone where the root cause was due to sin, He would say, “Go and Sin no more!” He did not say, try to sin less. If you have not repented for old sexual sins, even oral sex, today is the day to rectify, so God can heal up your soul wounds.
We have to be a people of Righteousness. We must seek to put on our armor and look for open areas where the enemy can get a foothold. It is not okay to live like the world. Seek people who will teach the truth and not tickle the ears to make us feel good and not be offended.
1 Thessalonians 4:18-20 But whatever [word] comes out of the mouth comes from the heart, and this is what defiles and dishonors the man. 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts and plans, murders, adulteries, sexual immoralities, thefts, false testimonies, slanders (verbal abuse, irreverent speech, blaspheming). 20 These are the things which defile and dishonor the man; but eating with[ceremonially] unwashed hands does not defile the man.”
God, nor Jesus, nor the Holy Spirit will avoid offending us to spare our feelings. These issues are indeed about the life and death to our very soul. Our soul condition directly affects how we prosper.
John 3:2 Beloved, I pray that in every way you may succeed and prosper and be in good health [physically], just as [I know] your soul prospers [spiritually]. Understand that in the original text, prosper was referring to finances. If the enemy has his hands on your career, job, money... examine your life before God. Let the Holy Spirit speak to the problem.
There is a direct link to our physical health and the condition of our soul. Your physical and mental/emotional healing need today, can definitely be tied to sins. We must be a people that deals daily with our sins. You will not stop what you refuse to address. God takes His word seriously, and we must also respond with the same convictions. Tomorrow may not come, so take today to make the change.
